About the OT Technician programme
No surgery happens without an OT technician. You prepare and sterilise the theatre, lay out instrument trays specific to each procedure, assist the anaesthetist with airway equipment and monitoring, support the surgical team intra-operatively, and handle biomedical waste and theatre turnover afterwards.
The course covers surgical anatomy, anaesthesia equipment and drug basics, sterilisation and disinfection science, OT protocols and zoning, instrument identification, surgical asepsis, patient transport and monitoring, and emergency response including BLS and ACLS fundamentals.
Because OT work is protocol-driven and high-stakes, trained technicians are consistently scarce, and salaries rise quickly with experience in tertiary-care and day-surgery centres.

OT Technician eligibility criteria
You must satisfy all of the following to be considered for admission in the 2027-28 session. Reservation rules follow state government norms.
- 10+2 with Science (PCB preferred)
- Minimum 45% aggregate
- Minimum 17 years of age
